8th Grade End-of-Year Events and Promotion Information (Class of 2026)

Dear 8th Grade Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to celebrate our 8th graders and all they have accomplished. Below is important information about our end-of-year events and the promotion ceremony.

End-of-Year Events

8th Grade Picnic and Awards Ceremony

  • Date: Wednesday, 6/10

  • Picnic: The picnic will take place outside on Harris School property.

  • Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will take place in the Harris School cafeteria.

  • Rain Plan: If weather requires, the picnic will move indoors.

Promotion Ceremony (Academy Park High School)

  • Date: Thursday, 6/11

  • Location: Academy Park High School

  • Students will be transported and supervised by staff. Students will be taken to the auditorium and will not need additional directions.

  • Students do not need to bring anything to Academy Park High School.

  • Students should plan to wear the 8th Grade t-shirt connected to the t-shirt order.

  • Permission slip: A promotion ceremony permission slip will be sent home after Spring Break. Additional details will be included on that permission slip.

8th Grade Dance

  • Date: Thursday, 6/11

  • Time: 5:00–7:00 PM

  • Location: Harris School Old Gym

  • Student expectations: 8th grade only. School-appropriate clothing.

  • Pickup: Pickup will be at the Old Gym door. A pickup list will be used, and we will need names in advance.

  • Permission slip: Dance information and the pickup list will be included with the permission papers that go home after Spring Break.

8th Grade Fee and Payment Information

To support our end-of-year activities, there is a $30 fee due ASAP!

  • Cash only

  • Covers: 8th grade t-shirt, picnic lunch, awards ceremony, and dance refreshments

  • Students should submit payment to Mr. Berman (Room 207).

Baby Picture Request (Optional)

Families may submit a baby picture to be included in an end-of-year celebration item. Participation is optional.
